Helping Our Customers Through Creative Problem Solving: Grande Aire’s Out-Of-The-Box Approach for A Successful High Efficiency Install on 7,149 SF Lido Key, Gulf Front Home

The Grande Aire Team was given the opportunity to work on a 4 BD, 7 BA, 7,149 SF, Gulf Front home in Lido Key. The project was simple: install new air conditioning systems. The requirements for the location, however, were more challenging: install a system 165 ft away from the home, out of range from the homeowners’ lawn and pool for daily use.

Our Sarasota Sales Manager Joe Garbinsky, and Installer Team Bill Makela and Nelson Rodriguez, Nick Morse and Joseph Zuniga were up for the challenge. Due to the size of the home and its waterfront location, Garbinsky began to strategize with our team the most effective way to complete the project. Very quickly he knew its solution went beyond the scope of a residential application— utilizing commercial air units would be the most efficient, cost-effective fit for the homeowners needs.

After meeting with 5 equipment manufacturers, Garbinsky chose Carrier’s Variable Refrigerant Flow System for its ability to heat and cool at the same time, provide comfort, extreme quietness, ease of use, and a centralized control system. By utilizing 165 ft of underground piping through the driveway and custom plenums running up the exterior wall of the home, our team could successfully keep the system away from the home and yard, surpassing industry line set average by nearly a hundred feet.

After 5 weeks of demo time, the project moved into the installation phase which consisted of 4, six-ton condensers, 7 air handlers, 8 smart thermostats connected with climate control, and over 2000 ft of communication wire. To limit any salt water damage, the units were individually taken apart and coated with a corrosion inhibitor before install. Sarasota County inspected the project and ensured it exceeded all current codes and conditions, giving the homeowner another level of protection and satisfaction. The completion of the project left our customers extremely satisfied with a minimal invasive, home comfort system with high-end technology.

Being a full service provider, Grande Are is covering the maintenance of all systems, which allows our team to check the system every 6 months to ensure safety, satisfaction, and efficiency are still up to the standards as the day it was installed. To learn more about our maintenance packages, click here.
