BIOLOGICAL
Mold, bacteria and viruses are easily transmitted through the air. They are not only unhealthy to breathe but mold, in particular, thrives inside the HVAC system and can significantly reduce the efficiency of AC coils and shorten the life of the equipment. PROformance Germicidal UV lights are proven to kill microbes in the air and on surfaces.
ODORS & VOCS
Nearly all unpleasant odors are caused by volatile organic compounds or VOCs. While many VOCs simply smell bad some, like formaldehyde, are very unhealthy to breathe. The PROformance Odor Control device safely neutralizes VOCs without emmitting harmful ozone.
PARTICULATES
Standard HVAC filters only capture large particles and are mainly intended to protect the air system not your family!
REFLECTIVE MEDIA UV ENHANCEMENT
UVC energy is proven to deactivate most pathogens; however, to be effective, the UV energy must be uniformly dispersed within the reaction chamber. This is where Porex Virtek PTFE reflective media excels.

HIGHLY UV REFLECTIVE MATERIAL FOR HVAC
TO INCREASE UVC DISINFECTION EFFECTIVENESS
This unique material is used to line the areas of the air system interior that receive direct and indirect disinfecting UVC light. With a diffuse reflectivity of up to 96% in the critical UV range, it effectively amplifies UVC light and reflects it onto areas not directly shined on which enables the UV disinfection system to perform at its peak.
Each Porex Virtek PMR10 polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sheet provides highly efficient and uniform diffuse reflectance of UV light. The material has an average reflectance of 96% at 254 nm, is chemically inert, UV resistant, and heat resistant to 500°F.
If your AprilAire Dehumidifier Model 1710A, 1750A, 1770A 1830, 1850, 1850W 1852, 1870, E080, E100, and E130 has been installed after February 2011, it is thermostat compatible. *Models 1710A, 1750A, and 1770A require a control board with a local/external dip switch. The recommended humidity range for dehumidifiers is between 40 and 60%, providing a comfortable and healthy indoor environment. Maintaining humidity within this range is crucial for health, as high humidity can exacerbate respiratory issues and allergies. Additionally, controlling humidity helps prevent mold growth, condensation, and improves energy efficiency by reducing the need for air conditioning. Yes. Zoning is possible with select AprilAire Dehumidifier models (1710A, 1750A, 1770A, 1830, 1850, 1850F, 1850W, E080, E100, and E130).
